Hey Ma'am 02:39
Hey ma’am, you can’t stand him. Hey ma’am, you better leave him. Gentleman, you’ve got the nerve. Gentleman, the way you treat her. I hope you won’t go driving ‘round just for your man. Doing all the things that he can. I won’t go driving ‘round just for your man. No I won’t go driving ‘round just for your man. No I won’t go driving ‘round just for your man. No I won’t go driving ‘round just for your man.

Overheat 03:30
Summer heat, my back sticks to the seat, 30 degrees, and I’m stuck in the traffic. Will I make it to the end of my street before my car starts spitting and stalling. I get out, outta my seat I stand up and get second degree burns on my feet. One last sip from my drink and I think I’m about to over, over heat. Oh and I, I take my time in a race. Oh and I, I take my time in a race. Well the sun’s in my face and to tell you the truth, I think we’ll make it, make it through. Then the smoke fills my eyes and I can hear all the cries pouring from the back seat, ringing out loud and true. I check beneath the hood, tighten up the screws, then we’re all good. Then I put my foot, my foot to the ground, yeah we’re moving yeah we’re laughing, we’ll make it to your place tonight. I take my time in a race. Oh and I, I take my time in a race. Yeah I, I take my time in a race. Oh and I, I take my time in a race. Summer heat, it’s 30 degrees, stuck to the seat, and I’m holding up traffic. Summer heat, it’s 35 degrees stuck to the seat, now I’m stuck in the traffic. Summer heat, it’s 39 degrees, stuck to the seat, and I’m holding up traffic. Summer heat, it’s 40 degrees, stuck to the seat, and now I over heat. Summer heat, it’s 45 degrees, stuck to the seat, and now I over heat. Summer heat, it’s 49 degrees, stuck to the seat, and now I over heat.

I think it every day, will you come back my way, my way. You never thought I cared, you never thought I cared about you. But I do. I cannot read your mind. I cannot read your mind. You take a piece of my life. Every time I see your face I pull through, I pull through. You never thought I cared, you never thought I cared about you. But I do. I cannot read your mind. I cannot read your mind. I cannot read your mind. I cannot read your mind. Your mind baby, read your mind I can’t, read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t. Read your mind, read your mind I can’t.

Lay Back 02:58
I said baby, you should have seen me. Never thought I’d make it out, never thought I’d make it out alive. That’s enough man, settle down now. Gotta change your ways all these thoughts will keep on messing with your head. Lay back, gotta lay back. Everything is slowing and it’s taking its time. You know where you’ll find me baby, you know where you’ll find me tonight. You know where you’ll find me baby, you know where you’ll find me tonight. I think I’ll whither away, I think I’ll whither away. I think I’ll whither away, I do. Everyone’s got their poison that they sit by their side. Everyone’s got their poison, we’re drinking, we’re drinking, we’re drinking, drinking tonight. Lay back baby, gotta lay back. Lay back baby, gotta lay back.

I’ve been walking the line. I’ve been having bad thoughts around this time. 10 o’clock in the night, I dip my head in the dark looking for the light. Got their heads in the sand. Living people and they don’t give a damn. I won’t give you my time. I won’t give you a thought from behind my eyes. Grab the keys to my ride. Hit the gas and I fly like hell tonight. I don’t want you. I never need you. I think it’s time for, For me to leave you. I think it’s time for, For me to leave you. I think it’s time for, For me to leave you.

Can't Stand 04:04
I’ve been overwhelmed the past couple of days. Like graveyard flowers in the prettiest of ways. Next time I’m with you I’ll tell you what I’m thinking. But when I’m with you I can’t think at all. And I can’t stand the pain. I can’t stand the shame. I find it easier to think abroad. ‘Cause close to home just jumbles all of my thoughts. Supposed to do all these things by a certain age. But I feel like I’m wasting it on a minimum wage. And I can’t stand the pain. I can’t stand the shame. And I will take this all day. ‘Cause in the end you and I are both the same.

I Need You 03:35
Outside alone I was waiting, I was thinking of you. Outside alone I was drinking, I was drinking with you. Oh well I need you. Oh well I need you. Outside alone I was waiting, I was thinking of you. Outside alone I was drinking, I was drinking with you. See don’t you find it funny girl, The only thing in my mind is you. Driving past another car girl, I just hope to see you. Oh well I need you. Oh well I need you. Outside alone I was waiting, I was thinking of you. Outside alone I was drinking, I was drinking with you. Oh well I need you. Oh well I need you.

Haven’t had a drink for the last hour. Keep getting snaked by some little hot shot. You never wanted me to leave you. But I did now I’m lost and I know. ‘Cause I got nothing to do. And got nowhere to be. Haven’t had a drink for the last hour. Keep getting snaked by some little hot shot. You never wanted me to leave you. But I did now I’m lost and I know. ‘Cause I got nothing to do. And got nowhere to be. ‘Cause I got nothing to do. And got nowhere to be.

Stay High 02:36
Get it off your lips, get it off your shoulders. I’ve grown up crooked now it’s all over. For me it’s like looking in rewind. I can’t get ahead, I can’t live my life. Staying friends from when you were young. And all of the things you’ve gone and said and done. I’m pleased to meet you, how’d you get this far? I never noticed you’d be one of my stars. ‘Cause I’ve been too busy for you. And I want to stay high. I wanna stay high. Get it off your lips, get it off your shoulders. I’m growing up crooked now I think that it’s over. For me it’s like I’m looking in rewind. I can’t get ahead I can’t live my life. ‘Cause I’ve been too busy for you. And I want you to know.. That I still need a friend And I wanna stay high. I wanna stay high…

I'm Not Sure 02:26
Four hours and then I wake. I feel like this is just a big mistake. I’m only waist deep but I think I’m drowning. I feel like I’m underground man. I’m not sure, Which way I’m going. Woke up and my mother told me, Stop your worrying and stop your crying. Feel like I’m weightless but I’m only young. I’ve been this way since I was seventeen. I’m not sure, Which way I’m going. Take me right back, gotta back track, Take me right back, gotta back track, Back to the start. I’m not sure, Which way I’m going.

Day Dreamed 04:50
Oh my love comes to carry my soul. Turns the light on to guide me home. All of the other things seem to flow on the passing stream. And all this time it seems, I’ve been away from you too long. Come back home to me please. And leave the light on when I come home. Well I know, life’s getting in the way. And I know I spend my time looking away. But I’ve been a lot of places, tasted all the flavours and I’ve day dreamed, honey. And I know spend my time miles away.

about

‘Find Me A Cloud’ is an album that has felt a little different to other albums we've written in the sense that we had an idea of where we wanted to take it, other times it has been whatever tracks we had ready to go. No concepts or themes but more of an auditive aesthetic that we all dived headfirst into. It feels a little truer to ourselves and nostalgic than previous albums. We wanted to draw inspiration from the past whilst never trying to recreate it.

We decided to go and record all the drums and guitars live down with our great friend Jasper at Big Fridge Recordings, I think this is where we really found the sound for the album. Big Fridge is a beautiful one room, rustic studio which has been converted from an old cool-room on an apple farm in Ocean Grove. It really felt like home for us. We then took the tracks back to our studio to build upon the foundations.

The album is filled with honest and relatable lyrics whilst some may come across as criptic, some tracks are heavier rock n roll and others slow and perpetual. Hopefully something for everyone.
