about
I went down a little bit more of a personal route with this track lyrically. I sometimes find myself being the person I want to be in my head but when it comes to a situation/ conversation I'm not able to convey the side of myself that I want to show. It also dives into the pressures that can be put onto people's shoulders purely just for existing.
Musically it feels a lot more mature for us and we really enjoyed trying out new sounds and direction for this one
lyrics
I’ve been overwhelmed the past couple of days.
Like graveyard flowers in the prettiest of ways.
Next time I’m with you I’ll tell you what I’m thinking.
But when I’m with you I can’t think at all.
And I can’t stand the pain.
I can’t stand the shame.
I find it easier to think abroad.
‘Cause close to home just jumbles all of my thoughts.
Supposed to do all these things by a certain age.
But I feel like I’m wasting it on a minimum wage.
And I can’t stand the pain.
I can’t stand the shame.
And I will take this all day.
‘Cause in the end you and I are both the same.
